I am currently 21 years old and I am still having a hard time staying fit. I am not going to talk like I have figured everything out about fitness and life because I am definitely nowhere close to it. But I have learned so much just from envisioning to stay fit. When I was young, around 14 years old I started to feel insecure about my body and generally about how I looked. I wasn’t really fat but I wasn’t confident with myself either. The point is, that it wasn’t only about physical health but also about mental health. Mental health can be a huge factor in our life but people do not take it seriously. From where I have come from, we in our family do not take mental health seriously, so taking your time and figuring out what YOU want to do is very important.
1. FIX YOUR GOAL
First, you need to understand that you need to choose what your next step is going to be or decide your ambition. As for me, I decided to go on a fitness journey. I learned that immediate weight loss is IMPOSSIBLE and even if you have lost weight in a short period of time it is not healthy in the long run. So the process is never going to be easy but adapting a few changes like learning to drink a lot of water daily can clear up acne and keep your lips hydrated.
2. EXERCISE DAILY
Exercises can be a pain in the ass but there are ways can be motivated to do exercise. When I first started doing exercises and doing them daily was hard because I did not know how to enjoy doing them. Did you know that music flows through every part of your body? if you see me doing exercises alone which I hope never happens. I am legit dancing like Chandler from the series FRIENDS with my hand in the air. Have a partner if you need to motivate yourself. I normally enjoy my workouts alone. Figure out what helps you or what you enjoy and include that in your daily routine.
3. FOOD
Dieting can be so difficult for most people including myself. When I say dieting I don't immediately mean no eating carbs. Most of you know that restricting yourself from eating is only going to make you think about it constantly and eventually binge eat afterward. You should allow your body to have what it wants but in smaller portions. I am still learning about how this works. But I have learned so many things to keep you motivated throughout your journey. For example, keep yourself busy by reading books or watching series. If you can't control your thoughts, eat healthier junk like nuts, bananas, and dates. Motivate yourself by watching fitness videos and watching people who are your inspiration and learn to keep away from negativity in your life as much as possible. Sometimes those things or people will bring you down and you won't be able to think clearly.
